Aftershock is a world-class gaming studio under FoxNext Games. Aftershock is best known for creating mobile games based on many of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, including Star Wars and The Hobbit. The studio has a number of projects in development that will showcase its strength in creating immersive experiences for the biggest entertainment brands, including the work they are currently doing creating a massively multiplayer mobile strategy game for James Cameron’s AVATAR franchise, in partnership with Lightstorm Entertainment.
Aftershock's leadership team, spearheaded by Aaron Loeb as President of Studios for FoxNext Games, is unparalleled in the industry, with executives from some of the best companies in entertainment, games, and media spaces. Aftershock’s Publishing team has collectively launched more than a dozen games. Together, the teams have a long history of working on iconic entertainment franchises and have supported six games that have each grossed more than $100 million in their lifetimes such as Marvel Contest of Champions, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, and the Kingdoms of Camelot and Dragons of Atlantis franchise games.
Aftershock’s creative game teams include: the Los Angeles Studio, who is currently developing the mobile game for James Cameron’s AVATAR franchise and other unannounced projects; and the San Francisco RPG Studio, winner of two App Store Editors’ Choice awards for Star Wars: Uprising and Spirit Lords.
Aftershock earlier this year was spun off from Kabam, one of the fastest growing game developers in the world, when Kabam was acquired by South Korean gaming company NetMarble.
